all this hype from the political sector about 'innvovation' and Australia's startup (particularly technology startups) industry has me thinking.
I have worked for a number of major corporations (PWC, David Jones, CBS, Fairfax, the Greens). And I enjoyed the experience. From each engagement I learnt a lot and was able to to progress both my career as well as my understanding of the technology and other industries.
But ultimately I wanted more control, which led me to starting my own business, and I think that is where I will stay in the long term. It offers me more stability and control, and also allows me to continue developing myself in the way that I want. However, obviously it is bloody hard work and the finances are not as secure as they would be if I was on a salary.
My question is: Would you ever consider leaving your day job and working for a tech startup? Or even founding one? Under what conditions would you consider doing so?
