This is also something i'll be looking closely at in the coming months - i'm apparently slated to get FTTN come march, so will need to work out what the best plan/speed/ISP is going to be.
I'm going to be 750m from the local node, which could be up to 850 lineal metres after cabling. I'm not holding out much hope for a high quality connection to come through on my 30-50 year old phone line.
Historically, i'd have gone with iinet, primarily due to their tech support quality (ie, me being able to tell them i'm a telco technician and systems/network engineer and they skip all the bullshit script for troubleshooting) and their stance on privacy and consumer rights regarding the internet generally.
Now with the TPG takeover, i'm thinking a change may be required however... As to who... Well i'll be keeping a close eye on this thread, for sure.
