currently considering my next smartphone upgrade and interested to know what people think.
Historically I have tended to switch between Android and iPhone as new models are released. For example, I have owned an iPhone 3G, an iPhone 4, an iPhone 5, iPhone 5S and iPhone 6. On the Android side I've owned a HTC One XL, a Nexus 4 and another HTC the model number of which I cannot quite recall (there were quite a few similar models there for a few years).
Out of all of these, my favourite model has been the Nexus 4, which I felt had a fantastic design, and I loved the default Android software. However, I have found the iPhones to be more effective in getting stuff done, likely due at least partially to the greater app availability over the early years of Android (not really a problem today) and the fact that I now run OS X on almost all of my computers.
I'd like my next smartphone to be an Android model, but I'm not 100% sure what to get. The Nexus 6 is likely looking a little long in the tooth at this point, having been released in November 2014, the OnePlus 2 looks amazing, but availability is likely to be severely limited, and although I have never owned a Samsung phone and would very much like to, the amount of extra stuff Samsung bundles on top of the normally excellent Android experience has turned me off.
So I'd like to hear -- what will be your next smartphone upgrade, and why would you recommend that particular model. What else should I be looking at, and why?
