The next election is the only thing that might have a chance of causing any change to the current MTM (as in if Labour wins they might tweak things a little). Even then FTTH is basically toast for the best part of 80% of Australians given the way contracts have been mis-negotiated and set in stone.
Most likely we'll get someone who's got no intention of doing anything other than collecting the bonus to pay and super that comes with a cabinet position before announcing retirement prior to next election. They'll keep the NBN on the down low as much as possible and put out the odd fire here and there whilst continuing the party rhetoric of Cu Cu Cu.
After the election if Liberals win there might be a slight shift but I doubt it as it requires folks admitting they knowingly screwed the Australian public and well that's not a good look for a PM.
