Hi there, this is my first post.
I am new to Aus, so please excuse my ignorance. But I would like to know if it possible to get trial ADSL data accounts to compare the various different ISPs and only then to move to the one that is best for my particular requirements.
I am working for an overseas employer, so it would be beneficial to me if my ISP has the lowest latency path to the country of my employer.
I tried testing the water this morning, but came up blank. All of the companies that gave me direct replies all said no and they all tried to convince me that their service is better and that I should move to them... I heard this from Optus and Dodo/iPrimus. I am still waiting to hear from Telstra / TPG.
In the country where I come from it is possible to buy ADSL data from any ISP and use it on your line as long as you have an active ADSL line. Is this not the case in Aus? I am using my own router which is not locked to any provider.
